JERUSALEM (JWN and agencies)—Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told Secretary General of the People’s Front for the Liberation of Palestine Ahmad Jibril in Tehran on Sunday that resistance is the only way to thwart “enemy plots” against the region.
“Today the resistance groups and freedom seekers should be ready more than any other time before. The only way to disrupt the enemy’s plots is continuing to resistance,” the Fars news agency reported Ahmadinejad as saying during the Sunday night meeting.
“The only way for the destruction of the Zionist regime is continuing the path of resistance by Palestinians,” Ahmadinejad said.
The president of the Islamic Republic stated that “this fake Israeli regime” is actually the symbol of the western countries and the US. “The Zionist regime is the entrance gate of the Western countries and the US to the Middle East region,” Ahmadinejad said.
PFLP leader Jibril called Iran the “strategic hope of the Palestinian nation.” He praised Iran for its Islamic revolution and touted the bonds between the Palestinian and Iranian nations.
According to the IRNA news agency, Jibril presented the Iranian president with a report on the situation in the Middle East.
