Netanyahu addresses Israel on latest terror attack, status of war with Hamas

In a recent address to the citizens of Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu conveyed condolences to the families affected by a recent terrorist attack near Eli. He emphasized the nation’s resolve in combating terrorism, stating that nearly 400 terrorists have been neutralized in Judea and Samaria since the onset of the conflict.

Highlighting the ongoing military and diplomatic efforts, Netanyahu outlined a two-pronged strategy aimed at dismantling Hamas, securing the release of hostages, and ensuring Gaza’s incapacity to threaten Israel’s security in the future.

“The military campaign is designed to destroy Hamas, return all of our hostages and ensure that Gaza never again constitutes a threat to Israel. The diplomatic campaign is designed to provide the military campaign with the time and resources to achieve these goals – until total victory is achieved,” the prime minister stated.

He stressed the significance of international engagement, asserting that unprecedented freedom of action for the Israel Defense Forces has been secured through diplomatic channels.

Drawing historical parallels, Netanyahu likened Israel’s current stance to pivotal moments in the nation’s past, referencing decisive actions by former leaders such as David Ben-Gurion, Levi Eshkol, and Menachem Begin.

Despite mounting international pressure, Netanyahu affirmed his commitment to safeguarding Israel’s interests, citing ongoing efforts to counter the Iranian nuclear program, resist pressures for a Palestinian state, and support settlement expansion in Judea and Samaria.

Rejecting calls to prematurely end the conflict, Netanyahu pointed to a recent Harvard CAPS-Harris poll indicating strong support for Israel among the American public. He expressed gratitude for the overwhelming backing, which energizes Israel’s determination to pursue victory.

In addition to addressing threats from Gaza, Netanyahu underscored Israel’s proactive stance against Hezbollah and Iran in the north, highlighting efforts to neutralize senior commanders and thwart hostile activities in the region.

The Prime Minister’s statement reaffirms Israel’s steadfast commitment to countering terrorism and protecting its citizens, both at home and abroad.
