IDF destroys Hezbollah launchers in Lebanon

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) carried out airstrikes on dozens of Hezbollah launchers in Lebanon on Wednesday, in response to a rocket barrage fired by the militant group into Israel over the past 24 hours.

The rockets, which targeted the Nahariya region in northern Israel on Tuesday, killed two people and caused significant damage. Sirens were also activated in the Tel Aviv and Gush Dan regions, but no injuries were reported in those areas.

The IDF’s operations in southern Lebanon have focused on dismantling Hezbollah’s military infrastructure. The targeted operations have successfully neutralized terrorists, seized weapons, and destroyed critical infrastructure, including underground bunkers, storage facilities, and rocket-launching sites. The IDF said it is committed to weakening Hezbollah’s operational capabilities while minimizing harm to Lebanese civilians.

In addition to the strikes on Hezbollah launchers, the Israeli Air Force (IAF) carried out a series of intelligence-driven airstrikes overnight on Hezbollah weapons storage sites and command centers in the Dahieh area of Beirut, a known stronghold of the terror group.

Hezbollah has embedded its military infrastructure within civilian neighborhoods, making the area a focal point for Israeli operations. In an effort to mitigate civilian casualties, the IDF issued advance warnings to the local population, urging them to evacuate the targeted areas.

The IDF has emphasized that it will continue to target Hezbollah infrastructure in Lebanon as part of its ongoing efforts to safeguard Israeli civilians from cross-border threats.

In Gaza, the IDF, working with intelligence from the Israeli Security Agency (ISA), targeted a terrorist cell in the Shejaiya neighborhood of Gaza City. Among those killed in the airstrike was Yasser Ghandi, a senior member of the cell and one of the attackers who breached Israeli territory during the October 7 massacre. The IDF said Ghandi had played a significant role in planning and executing the attack.

Over the past 24 hours, the Israeli Air Force has struck more than 120 Hamas and Hezbollah targets across Gaza and Lebanon. The IDF continues to target sites associated with both groups as part of its ongoing military campaign to disrupt terrorist operations and secure Israel’s borders.
