Sirens rang out across the Galilee and Haifa Bay shortly after the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported conducting strikes against an Iranian proxy in Beirut, launching around 85 rockets in the initial barrage, followed by another 20 approximately 30 minutes later.
The Iron Dome intercepted many of the incoming rockets, though multiple impacts were recorded, according to the IDF.
Reports indicated that some rockets and shrapnel landed in Haifa, causing damage to the Mediterranean port city. A building in Kiryat Yam was directly hit, and there was damage reported along Jerusalem Boulevard, with residents noting broken shutters and a burst water pipe.
Later in the morning, 25 rockets were fired in the Lower Galilee, with the IDF confirming that some were intercepted while others landed in the area. Following this wave of attacks, the IDF stated there were no changes to the Home Front Command’s defensive protocols.
This barrage followed IDF strikes on Hezbollah targets in Dahiya, a stronghold in southern Beirut, and came shortly after Hezbollah’s deputy leader delivered a speech.
On Monday, Hezbollah launched 190 projectiles into Israeli territory, primarily targeting northern regions, including five rockets aimed at the Tel Aviv area that night. Since October 8, Hezbollah has attacked Israel nearly daily, firing thousands of rockets, missiles, and drones, resulting in more than 40 fatalities and extensive damage. Tens of thousands of Israeli civilians remain internally displaced due to the ongoing conflict.
Over the past year, Hezbollah has fired more than 12,400 projectiles into Israel, according to the latest IDF figures. Jerusalem has intensified its military actions against Hezbollah since designating the return of evacuated civilians in the north as an official war objective on September 17.
On Tuesday afternoon, Hezbollah fired over 100 rockets at the Haifa area, resulting in at least one injury. According to the Magen David Adom emergency service, a 70-year-old woman sustained a mild-to-moderate shrapnel injury to her hand and was evacuated to Rambam Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
