3 injured in Jerusalem terrorist ramming attack

Three pedestrians sustained injuries in a ramming terror attack in Jerusalem on Monday morning, as reported by Israel Police.

“In the morning hours, at approximately 08:00, a report was received regarding a car accident resulting in the injury of three pedestrians on Techelet Mordechai Street in Jerusalem. Fortunately, the pedestrians sustained only minor injuries,” the police reported.

“However, the situation escalated when two armed terrorists emerged from the vehicle involved in the accident. Despite their attempts, they failed to inflict harm with their weapons and hastily fled the scene, abandoning their firearms as they fled,” the reported added.

The extensive searches conducted by Border Police forces along with Israeli police forces from the Jerusalem district, under the command of District Commander Doron Turgeman, led to the arrest of the two terrorists.

“With the assistance of the Israel Police Unit’s helicopter, the team was able to locate the two terrorists who were hiding. They were arrested and transferred for further questioning,” Turgeman noted.

The terror also struck a pedestrian on Yermiyahu Street in Romema, Jerusalem. Both pedestrians sustained mild injuries, with one evacuated to Shaare Zedek Medical Center and the other opting not to receive further treatment.

The hospital informed that the three injured individuals, aged 20, 18, and 15, sustained light injuries and are expected to be released on Monday morning.

The three injured individuals declined to give separate statements but conveyed, “Thank God we are well and healthy. This was a Passover miracle. We ask for unity in Israel and wish for a kosher, happy, and safe holiday to Israel,” Shaare Zedek Medical Center reported.

Later reports noted that the terrorists were identified as Palestinian residents from Hebron. An investigation is underway to determine how the men entered Jerusalem with the vehicle.
