JERUSALEM (JWN and agencies)—Ahlam Tamimi, the Palestinian woman terrorist who drove a suicide bomber to the Sbarro restaurant in Jerusalem in 2001, and was released in the exchange for abducted soldier Gilad Shalit last year, is now the host of a popular talk show on Hamas-affiliated Al-Quds TV.
Tamimi was sentenced to 16 consecutive life terms (or 320 years) for helping to murder 15 civilians and wounding another 130 in the bombing.
She now lives in Jordan, where she presents her program called Nasim al-Ahrar [Breeze of the Free], which features Palestinian prisoners in Israeli jails.
Following her release, Tamimi said she had no regrets about the bombing. “I dedicated myself to the path of jihad for the sake of Allah, and Allah granted me success,” she told the Jordanian Ammon News website. “Do you want me to denounce what I did? That’s out of the question. I would do it again.”
